No wasted effort

Proverbs 14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

Maybe you can't do it all today. But with everyday you can get closer to your goal.

Stop worrying about things that you can step over

Today at work, I thought about mental blocks. I thought about how these mental blocks can wreak so much havoc in our lives. They cause us to hesitate unnecessarily, take way too long to accomplish things or worse, never attempt anything at all. Mental blocks can keep you in your own personal jail cell. A cell you put yourself in. I've been praying a lot more lately, and as I pondered these blocks I got a vision of a small block. A block that came up maybe to my ankle. The wisdom of it was that this was something I could step over. Do you get that? We are so much bigger than our mental blocks. We can just step over them. What are your blocks? Shyness? Fear? Negative thinking? Do you realize that you can just step over them? And do what you need or want to do? Re-read that. Mental blocks don't have to stop you anymore, just step over them.

5 reasons my life is cool right now

One of the first verses I learned in the Bible was Phillipians 4:6 which says not be anxious about anything. While there is great, great wisdom in that, in the past, I've had trouble applying it to my life. We live in a culture built on stress. Virtually everyone reading this is either stressed or knows someone who is. So how do you move past that anxiety? One thing I have started to do is write a little list called the 5 reasons my life is cool right now. What does it do?

1. Takes my attention off my problems
2. Focuses my attention on the things that are going right
3. Makes me feel better

Those 3 benefits alone are enough for you to do it, but I'm sure you could come up with some more reasons.

Here's my list for where I am right now

1. I get to live in a hotel
2. This week, I was in a hotel that had free cookies everyday. Nice treat after a hard day's work.
3. Also, the hotel had free breakfast. A real one, with eggs and such.
4. I spoke to my daughter on Facetime and that made feel a lot better.
5. I have a job, a good one, working with good people.

What about your list?

Living in a voice-activated world

For the longest time, I've heard that "You will have what you say". But I don't always practice it. Few people ever pay attention to really comes out of their mouths. Ignoring it can hinder your growth.

Do you see now, more than ever, that we live in a voice activated world? Our cars, phones and even appliances have some sort of voice command application. We can now write papers and essays with just our voices and the technology will only get better. I think it is a sign we are voice activated people. Until you decide to speak what you want to see, rather than merely mimic what you see already, you will not experience the type of victory you deserve.

Start paying attention to what you are saying because you likely will see it again.
